Super Rod is a better card than the awkward combo of Energy Recycler and Klara, as your main priority is setting up two Goodra VSTAR, so you don't need to worry so much about recovering large numbers of Pokmon and Energy cards

Im not here to debate whether this is good or not, just that, clearly there is a temporal limit to the relevancy of these cards

And of course, just like Call of the Herd, this is a great card to dump in the graveyard with whatever graveyard engine you're running so you can cast it later in the game for some free value
